Paintings, Watercolors, Photography and Drawings

Don Jalbert is an award winning Christian artist working in the impressionistic tradition painting landscapes, cityscapes, and seascapes mostly in the New England area.  He has a keen interest in the effects of light at different times of day and season.  While comfortable working in watercolor and acrylic his primary medium is oil.

His work has been strongly influenced  by Frank W Benson and Winslow Homer among many other American and French Impressionists.  Don studied for ten years as an apprentice with American Impressionist artist John C. Terelak whom he acknowledges as the primary influence in his artist career.

Don also paints and draws marine and avian wildlife including whales, sharks, and raptors, and is an avid photographer.
Don has studied art at Springfield College, Salem State University, and Mass College of Art.  He graduated from Eastern Nazarene College Cum Laude with a degree in Business Administration.

Don’s paintings have been displayed in several Cape Cod galleries, local libraries, and he has been the monthly featured artist at the Plum Island Wildlife Refuge Center several times.   His artwork was selected for the Family First Calendar in 2017 .  Don is a supporter and frequent contributor to the Memory Project where he creates portraits of orphans from around the world.

Don lives and paints in Epping, NH with his wife of over 35 years and his four dogs.  His hobbies include reading, writing, crossword puzzles, scale modeling, and archaeology.
